Janus Security Services – CCTV Division: Terms and Conditions
Definitions
1.Purpose
1.1 The System is designed to reduce the risk of loss, damage, or unauthorised access to the Customer’s premises and, where applicable, protect individuals on site.
1.2 While the System improves security, the Contractor does not guarantee it cannot be tampered with, removed, or rendered inoperative by the Customer or any unauthorised party. The Contractor is not responsible for any resulting losses.
2. Scope of Agreement
These Terms and Conditions govern the supply, installation, and maintenance of CCTV & Alarm systems. Acceptance of a quotation, proposal, or order confirms acceptance of these terms.
3. Contractor Obligations
The Contractor will:

3.2 Ensure all equipment is new and free from defects unless otherwise stated.
3.3 Perform installations to professional standards in compliance with laws and industry best practices.
3.4 Provide basic operation training for the System upon completion.
3.5 Honour warranty obligations:
3.6 Notify the Customer of any delays in delivery or installation.
3.7 Maintain the confidentiality of any Customer data or site information acquired during installation.
3.8 Provide aftercare support or maintenance if included in the agreement or separately contracted.
4. Customer Obligations
The Customer agrees to:
4.1 Provide full access to all areas where installation is required, including necessary permissions from property owners or landlords. Janus Security Services accepts no liability for installations carried out without appropriate consent. Additional charges apply if work must be removed, altered, or relocated due to lack of permission.
4.2 Ensure the premises have suitable electrical and internet/network access if required.
4.3 Review and approve installation plans before work commences.
4.4 Make payments as agreed:
4.5 Comply with all relevant data protection and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR).
4.6 Not tamper with, relocate, or repair the System without written consent from the Contractor.
4.7 Report faults or issues promptly to allow for warranty claims or repairs.
4.8 Accept liability for third-party damage or interference after installation.
5. Cancellation & Termination
5.1 Cancellation by the Customer before installation may incur fees covering equipment, planning, and administration.
5.2 The Contractor may terminate the agreement if the Customer breaches any material terms, including failure to provide access or payment.
5.3 Upon termination, the Contractor may recover equipment not fully paid for unless otherwise agreed.
6. Costs and Quotes
6.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

7. Ownership and Risk
7.1 Ownership of equipment remains with the Contractor until full payment is received.
7.2 Risk passes to the Customer upon delivery and installation.
8. Warranty / Guarantee
8.1 12-month warranty covers all CCTV & Alarm products, including parts, labour, and call-outs for defective items.
8.2 Optional extended warranty available after 12 months.
8.3 Customer must report faults immediately; the Contractor will repair or replace faulty hardware free of charge within the warranty period.

9. Remote Viewing & IT
9.1 The Contractor is not liable for IT issues preventing remote viewing (e.g., ISP issues, router changes, new devices). Additional charges may apply for reconfiguration.
10. Limitation of Liability
10.1 The Contractor is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of footage or business interruption.
10.2 Liability for direct claims is limited to the total amount paid under the contract.
10.3 The Contractor does not act as an insurer of property or contents and cannot guarantee complete security.
11. Force Majeure
The Contractor is not liable for delays or failures due to causes beyond its control, including natural disasters, strikes, war, government actions, or other events of force majeure.
12. Data Protection
12.1 The Customer is responsible for lawful management of recorded data, including retention and subject access requests.
12.2 The Contractor is not responsible for storing or monitoring footage unless a separate data service agreement is in place.
13. Complaints Procedure
Customers should report complaints via:
Complaints are logged, and a response will be provided within 7 working days. Complex matters will be communicated within 14 working days.
14. Entire Agreement & Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Contractor and Customer and supersede all prior agreements.
This contract is governed by the laws of England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland as applicable.
